World’s First Synthetic Course

Set amidst the stunning Central Queensland coastline, the Reef Palms 18 hole synthetic course has been designed to exploit the natural beauty of the terrain, while providing a true test of skill and judgment for golfers of every level. At Reef Palms the golfer will find a course that is acclaimed for its synthetic greens and tees, which means an immaculate playing surface all year round. The abundant charm of the par 70 layout is dramatically enhanced by the technical merit of the course.

A challenging design, the 5750 metre Championship layout for gentlemen, and 5601 metre layout for the ladies renders this course rated as one of Central Queensland most challenging golfing rounds.

Created with well contoured true fairways, many undulations and mounds, and even but undulated greens, it is unrivalled by many Central Queensland courses, with the added attraction of spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding islands.

Another glorious feature of the course is the prevalence of spectacular water hazards in the form of expansive lakes abundant with fish and birdlife, which ensures every aspect of your game is relentlessly challenged.

Golf CourseThe 371 metre par 4, 4th hole is the signature hole on the course with the raised green protected by water hazards on the right and left and behind the green, hitting into the usually easterly winds.

In addition to the 18 hole course, Zilzie Bay also has a 9 hole course which is a delightful Par 3 and is very popular with seniors, juniors and local residents.

Reef Palms also has a super putt and crazy putt course, and driving range.

Our 18 hole course is open to the public 7 days a week.

Affiliated with Central Queensland Golf Association and Golf Queensland.

Our world first synthetic golf course caused great excitement among golfing celebrities including Nick O’Hern, Charlie Earp, Peter Senior and Paul King- the former President of the Queensland PGA.

“Putting on the synthetic greens was a unique and challenging experience, stopping the ball on the green was not a problem. The course layout is good and will improve and develop as it matures, the clubhouse is magnificent one of the best I have seen in Australia and I would rate it with the best I have seen in the world”
